Steps to install the HICAPS Software

Prerequisites

Before installing the HICAPS software, please ensure:

Once the prerequisites are met, please install the software in this order:

Keyspan Driver Software

In order to configure the HICAPS device(s) connected to your network, you will need to download the driver software.

  • Click here to download the latest version of the driver software (scroll to the bottom of the page and select your operating system)
  • Click on the downloaded file (USA-19HS Windows_VXX.zip) to open the archive file.
  • Double click on the executable file (USA-19HS Windows_VXX.exe) to initiate the installation process
  • Follow the instructions on the screen to completed the installation

HICAPS Connect Software

  • Click here to download the HICAPS Connect software files from the Gensolve Website
  • Double click on the downloaded file
  • (HicapsConnect_XXX.exe) to initiate the installation process
  • Click Run and follow the instructions on the screen to complete the installation
  • Ensure the software is up-to-date:
    • Right click on the HICAPS icon in the taskbar
    • Select the Configure menu
    • Click on the Updates button.

Troubleshooting

Once the software is installed and the HICAPS device is configured, if you are unable to communicate with the HICAPS device follow the steps below:

  • Click on the Start HICAPS Svc button
  • Wait until the service stops (this may take a few seconds)
  • Click the Stop HICAPS Svc button
  • Go to Start > All Programs > HICAPSConnect > HICAPSConnectDiagnosis
  • Wait until the service starts (this may take a few seconds)
  • The HICAPS device should now be available.
